Profile

I studied design and graduated with highest honors before spending a number of years creating branding, design systems, and interfaces in the creative industry. The itch to bring these creations to life drove me into web development.

Self driven and motivated by curiosity, in 2016 I dove head-first into learning and in 2019 began my first role as a developer at a software company where I was soon promoted to a senior level.

My skills are focused on frontend web development, complemented by my years as a designer. I’ve invested heavily in the areas of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, React, UI and UX design.

Root Insurance Co. | Marketing tech

Primary tools: Contentful, Gatsby/React, AWS CloudFront

One project at Root that I'm most proud of is my work developing a page creation system which powers inc.joinroot.com. The system allows designers and copywriters to build, publish, and deploy web pages without engineering support. This project greatly improved Root's ability to push out new content and iterate, taking a process that used to take ~2 weeks of engineering's time, down to now ~45 minutes of marketing's time! I built the majority of this system from the ground up over roughly a 4 month period.

Hustler Turf Equipment | Design, Prototype, & Development

Primary tools: React, Google APIs, Node, SalesForce, Puppeteer

Highlights from my time transitioning from a career in design to web/software development. Projects include prototyping and developing an eCommerce platform that allowed the company, in just one year, to sell nearly $1,000,000 in used inventory across the country and it's still going strong.
